Shibari Class: Tension Techniques & Chest Harness Workshop
In this beginner shibari class, we will build upon foundational skills to explore tension exercises, both before and after stretching. You’ll learn how to manage and adjust tension in the rope, crucial for creating dynamic and comfortable ties. We will also focus on the chest harness, an essential element in shibari that can add both beauty and functionality to your rope work.
What You’ll Learn:
- Tension Exercises: Techniques to control and vary tension, creating more flow and precision in your ties.
- Stretching Techniques: How to safely stretch before and after tying a chest harness.Â
- Chest Harness: Learn how to construct a decorative and supportive chest harness, a key element in many intricate shibari designs.
Class Requirements:
- Partner: You will need a partner to work with. If you don’t have one, we can help pair you up.
- Rope: Bring two lengths of rope (15-30 feet each). Preferred materials include hemp, jute, nylon, cotton, or bamboo—wear tight fitting clothing if you are a rope bottom.Â
